Astro Blaster, The SEGA Space Adventure

Can your ship take the heat? If you’re a fan of Galaga, here’s a game that takes similar mechanics to the next level. Astro Blaster was released by Sega in 1981, when the golden age of arcade games was in full effect. A fixed shooter game, Astro Blaster involves the player moving their ship from side to side as they are assaulted by waves of enemy ships that approach with different flight patterns and formations. Unlike Galaga, though, there is a fuel and temperature limit, meaning you have to be careful about your aim and movement choices. This nice touch of strategy takes this game a step above Galaga and is sure to provide tons of entertainment at every stage.
